What's next for Browzmi

The picture above says it all. We're going to make it possible to chat with your friends across the major instant messaging networks and surf together in Browzmi. Web-based IM + Social Surfing = Live Web Fun.

We're also working on opening up the Browzmi website so everyone can see what's happening. These projects will keep us busy for the weeks ahead. If you have ideas or are a developer that would like to build some Browzmi widgets/add-ons, shoot us an email at browzmi@gmail.com.

90 Days

90 days after promising a major upgrade, we've deployed an entirely new version of Browzmi. The new release is a big step forward:

It's focused. Browzmi is a website for instant messaging + social surfing with your friends. That's what it does.

It's simple. You'll see a new clean and simple user interface. Everything has been redesigned based on the feedback we received during the last quarter of '07 with the goal of making Browzmi easy and fun to use.

It's connected. You can now chat and surf the web together with your facebook friends. When you and your Facebook friends install the Browzmi Facebook application, you will automatically be friends in Browzmi. The app includes a Browzmi buddy list so you can see online status and start Browzmi right from your Facebook profile.

So have fun with the new release! And chat and surf with you soon.

Jumping into 2008

Happy New Year! We're excited about 2008 as we're closing in on the launch of the Browzmi beta. Here's what we're working on: 1) a new user interface design; 2) the ability to browse domains together and see where everyone in Browzmi is hanging out online; and 3) a widget to launch Browzmi from inside popular social networks - starting with Facebook. We think that's a good list based on all the feedback we have received so far from people all over the world.

Last week we responded to many requests to make it possible to move our chat windows. We did that and improved incoming chat notifications - they now appear on the bottom of your screen. Here's a picture:

Now everyone can sign up for Browzmi

We deployed open user registration for Browzmi today. So now everyone can sign up without any invites required. We're not finished building our beta, but we can't stay in the lab forever. Enjoy!

Want to Browze Together?

In real life, you probably prefer to go to concerts, movies, shopping malls, galleries, parties and other social places together with your friends.

Now it's possible to go to your favorite social web sites together with your friends in Browzmi. Watch videos, discover music, check out photos, shop and socialize together with your friends at your favorite web sites. "Browzing Together" is much more fun than browsing alone.

This new Browzmi widget displays the real-time online location of you and your friends. With the ability to follow each other from page to page and chat along the way, you can experience the web like you're there together. Check out the video below to see it in action.

And this is all online with no downloads required :)

Introducing Browzmi Search

Browzmi now has social search. It's easy to find people and web stuff that matches your interests. We're aggregating the actions of all our Browzers so that you can find stuff based on tags and then sort by most recent, most likes, most visited and most discussed. It's also cool cause you can filter to see stuff from everyone, your friends or just you. And the Browzers that are online show up on top of the results in green.

So what's next? We're working on some cool stuff to let everyone really Browze together! But still lots to do before we launch. Thanks everyone for the continued support :)
