How we're doing invites to Browzmi

Thanks for all the interest in checking out Browzmi! This weekend we got a ton of invite requests, which was great.

To date, I (travis) have been inviting most new users, but now that we're getting many requests, I don't want to overload my friends and followers in Browzmi with too many new-user Browzing Updates.

So we're going to start inviting people from a user named "The Browzmi Team," which will be your default friend. After creating your account, I encourage you to add me or invite some of your friends. If I see you online in Browzmi, I'll try to say hi via chat to welcome you. Please feel free to find me and chat as well.

If you're wondering where your invite is: 1) give us a little time to respond; and 2) check your spam filter in your email (especially hotmail, aol, msn) to see if it's there from browzmi.com. See you in Browzmi!

New Privacy Setting

You can now keep your stuff in Browzmi private. This new setting, located on your profile page, allows you to limit access to your profile page and your updates to friends only.

Browzmi now has Chat

We introduced Chat into Browzmi this week and it really adds to our concept of "Web Together." You can have multiple chat sessions going with your friends as you browse, share and discover the web together in Browzmi.

We also completed the "Browzers that Like" widget in More Stuff so you can see people who like each web page you visit and check out other stuff they like.

Even more coming soon...

Browzmi Private Beta Started

It's time for some people to use Browzmi. Get your Browzmi account by: 1) scoring an invite from a friend that already has a Browzmi account; 2) joining the Browzmi Facebook group and asking around there; or 3) requesting an invite on our home page.

The screen shot above shows off our entirely new beta user interface. Alex Kolodochko did a great job on the design.

So what's next for Browzmi? Now that we've got the foundation built, we'll be focusing on adding cool new widgets. The "Browzers that Like" widget will be out soon.

Browzmi servers

We installed our servers in the U.S. data center this week. With a massive infrastructure of 2 servers, we don't have capacity for a ton of beta users. But we have plenty of room to grow.

Invites for Browzmi Beta

Now that our Beta release is right around the corner, we're no longer adding users to our alpha version.

Browzmi beta will be invite-only and we'll need to gradually bring on new users to make sure everything works great.

So if you're interested in being one of the first to get an invite - and then be able to invite your friends - we ask that you submit an invite request on our web site, or better yet, join the Browzmi group in Facebook started by Jason Coker, a recent grad of Charlotte Country Day School. Members of this group will be messaged in Facebook as soon as we crank up the Beta.

Special thanks to everyone at CCDS that provided feedback on the alpha.
